I'm Sal Criscuolo and this is my Team made up of my son Salvatore and daughter Kaysea. I help people buy homes and save money on their mortgages. I've been in the mortgage business since 1999, and today I'm a Sales Manager at CMG Home Loans in Staten Island, New York. NMLS 65070.
The short version
Brooklyn born and raised. Started working at 18. Owned a sandwich shop. Worked on Wall Street. Found mortgages in 1999 and never left. Wrote three books on sales. Became a keynote speaker after conquering a real fear of public speaking. Ran two marathons. Raised three kids with my high school sweetheart. Faith and family first, everything else after.
The longer story
I grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, in an Italian American family. At about 18 I went to work alongside my cousin at Boeing for a year, then came back to Brooklyn and opened a sandwich shop called S&G's with a partner. The whole neighborhood loved my mother's meatballs, so the shop did well. Even Chuck Scarborough from NBC News used to stop in.
After the shop I spent time on Wall Street, earned my Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses, and then found the mortgage business in 1999. That's been home ever since. Along the way I've packaged and implemented structured financing deals both here and abroad, and held a 30% ownership stake in a mortgage banking and brokerage company.
Somewhere in there I wrote three books in my Sale of Self series, including Paying Back Dad (Sale of Self, Volume 3). Writing led to keynote speaking, which is funny because I used to have a genuine phobia of public speaking. I got past it by being myself on stage.
I ran my first marathon in 2010 as an ex-smoker who had never run before. I ran two of them. When Superstorm Sandy hit Staten Island and later when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, I showed up to help with relief efforts, because that's what you do.
